This is actually very simple and I think will also work for other types of remote controls. It involves the simple opening of the remote and locating the antenna. The antenna may be a round or square flat surface. Lightly sand and solder a 2 inch piece of insulated wire to it. Loop the wire and keep it inside the remote.

Voila, the extended internal antenna had made the remote more powerful by at least 50 feet!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN VIRGIN COCONUT OIL

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), is such as an expensive product due to the valuable properties that can be derived from it.

Here are very easy steps to follow in concocting your own Virgin Coconut Oil from the comforts of your own home.

A. INGREDIENTS AND MATERIALS NEEDED:

3 grated matured coconut with its natural water
Cheesecloth* for squeezing the coconut
Plastic containers
Filters

B. PROCEDURE

Mix the grated coconut and natural water and wring it often (using clean hands) to create a creamy mixture.
Lay the cheese cloth flat on the table and scoop two handfuls of the mixture into its center.
Separate the creamy coconut juice by joining all the corners of the cheese cloth together and wringing the cloth. Creamy juice will seep out of the cloth and coconut meat (dehydrated) will be trapped in the cloth.
Catch the flowing cream with the plastic cloth (make sure that the container is very clean).
Do the wringing 25 times until all the creamy juice is squeezed out of the coconut meat.
Repeat the procedure until all the coconut meat has been processed.
Set the dehydrated coconut meat aside. It can be used to prepare delicious macaroons or soil conditioner.

Place the coconut cream in a shallow even container and cover it for 48 hours.
This will result to coconut oil naturally separating from the water and other impurities. Through time, there will be 3 layers of liquid: The coconut oil, a watery and a creamy fluid.

Before the 48th hour, prepare the container for the oil. It should be one with a narrow opening and fasten a filter.
On the 48th hour, gently scoop the oil and put in the prepared container, letting the filter remove any impurity.
Filter the oil three times. No impurity should be present in the final product. Tightly close the lid. Now, you have the final product.

NOTE:

The resulting product will not be clear white in color. When viewed through the sunlight, the oil will have a yellowish tint. This is Virgin Coconut Oil’s (VCO) natural color. The color is a sign that the natural nutrients were retained in entire extraction process.
The water part of the original mixture can be fermented to become vinegar. The creamy mixture can be cooked on a pan to let more oil out. The oil can be used for frying or for the hair.
The virgin coconut oil can be stored in room temperature. Shelf life is 2 years.

*Also called katsa in Filipino

This is about common cold for kids. If their cold comes with fever or headaches, body pains, etc.. Take them to a doctor.

According to the American Society of Pediatrics, cold medicines don’t work for kids below the age of 6. Therefore, when they struck by colds, just give them something to blow their nose on. This video says, “Give them a tissue!” I disagree. Tissue papers have lots of small fibers that fly all over when you blow into it. What will happen is that your nose will inhale some of those fibers when you breathe. And when that happens, your runny nose worsens. Use a hanky or a piece of clean cloth instead.

Since there is no ultimate (kids) cure for the common cold, prevention is deemed to be the best.

Frequently hand wash. Teach your kids to wash their hands whenever needed. Rub both hands with soapy water for 20 seconds before rinsing. Just how do you make it fun for your kids to wash their hands? Some of the suggestions in the video include letting them finish their favorite song while washing their hands, use fragrant soaps and cool looking soap dispensers.

INSOMIA: HOW TO GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP

Those who are having difficulty sleeping may try the following:

Figure out if there’s something that’s bothering you. Is it an upcoming deadline? Is it a personal, business or career problem? If there is, now you know what it’s causing you and you have to figure out how to control it. Deng Xiao Peng was once quoted by another leader that one of the secrets to his longevity is that he never worries about anything. Worrying will just hurt you and will never make your problems go away. So, it’s a lot better to just stop worrying. The solution will come but never through worrying.
Learn some breathing techniques that help you relax. Whenever I feel tensed, I use a martial arts technique of inhaling deeply (6 seconds), holding the air (6 seconds) and slowly releasing the air (again, 6 seconds). Repeat the procedure until you’re fine.
Exercise, most especially at night, one or two hours before going to bed. The workout will not only tire you but also take your mind away from your current thoughts. I tried playing late afternoon (and night) golf and it worked. My concentration was in the game for four hours and I forgot my problems. My tired muscles also helped in making me sleep easily.
I also try to cool myself outdoors and as soon as I felt well relaxed, I proceed to my room and sleep comes easily.
Massage: Ohlala! Massage sooths and relaxes my tensed and tired muscles and falling asleep becomes so natural after a session.
Try ANY OF the following:

Chamomile Tea: This is the best for me. It’s delicious, non caffeinated and makes me so calm at night. I usually take it an hour before bedtime. A friend who has insomnia swears to its benefits. Oh I almost forgot, my also likes it. In addition, I the tea is refreshing and non drowsy when taken during the day. But at night, Wow!
Melatonin: It’s a natural sleeping formula. Ask your doctor for the right dosage.
Benadryl: Check Wikipedia for the type of Benadryl in your country. I just found out that in some countries, the formula is not the type that makes people sleepy. Again, ask for a doctor’s prescription.

HOW TO TIE A TIE: Four in hand knot (illustrated and with step by step instructions)

If you need to see bigger images, please double click on each photo. Here's a simple step by step guide on how to tie a tie using the popular four in hand style.

STEP 1: This is just a mere photo of the tie that will be used. You may use any tie that will look good with the shirt that you will be wearing.

STEP 2: Do as shown. Hang the tie on your neck and make sure that the small end is by the middle of your chest. Make the bigger (and longer end) cross over the other end, as shown on the photo.

By experience, you will eventually learn exactly how long one side will need to be depending on your neck size and the length of your torso.

STEP 3: These are five photos showing step 3. In this step, let the longer side loop over, underneath and again, over the shorter (and smaller) end.

Get it across and over...

...and under

..and across (again)

STEP 4: Make the longer end go up and exit under your neck, as shown in the next photo. If you'll notice, you've just made almost two complete loops using the wide (and longer) end of the tie.

This is how the long end it sneaks up under your neck.

STEP 5: Let the wide end drop in between the loops, as shown in the photo.

CLOSE UP PHOTO

STEP 6: Arrange the tie. Try to create that popular "dimple" if the fabric cooperates.

STEP 7: Pull the tie close to your neck and tighten it.

There, you've just finished the popular 4 in hand knot.
